King Slime Strategy

Being the easiest boss in the game it doesn't require too much expertise to kill the slimy thing, just have a wide flat open surface to face the beast as well as about 50 blocks worth of rope to tower up with. Doing so will prevent the Slime King from reaching you at all! Then just hit him with projectiles until the gelatinous beast is felled! You can see an example in the video below where a youtuber by the name of "Millinosch the gamer" gives a quick tutorial. ;)

Slimy Saddle

Slime Hook

The Slimy Saddle is a Mount obtainable from the King Slime in early Pre-Hardmode and allows for extremley high jumping! Not only that, it allows you to ride across water similar to the Waterwalking Boots! Great for getting out of cave systems and over hills, as well as exploring the ocean since you can quickly rise to the top using the Slimy Saddle and disable it to continue your deep sea dive!

The Slime Hook is a grapple you obtain from the Slime King in early Pre-Hardmode and has a an additional 2 hooks making for a total of three! This can be extremley handy for getting to ores underground in weird spots, and also at preventing deaths from fall damage! It is a great accesory to get ahold of so early on and will ease the difficulty of your adventure by a lot until you get ahold of a better one.
